Nkap-Ntod (NN) is a BCA-USA voluntary member benefit solidarity framework. An initiative to assist registered members & their children in times of death. A strategy to reduce the burden and expenses associated with funerals. NN is solidarity in nature because the benefit is provided by participating members & its activity seeks to bring the BCA USA community together in such a time of need. The Idea of NN was first presented during the leadership Summit in Oklahoma. The first drafted copy of the program was presented during the 2014 Leadership Summit in Dallas and the program was finally launched in 2016. This year NN will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
NN is managed by the NN committee whose chair is appointed by the president of BCA USA and confirmed by the Board of Directors. The committee is charged with the smooth functioning, maintenance, and improvement of the NN program. Activities and decisions of the NN committee are supervised by the NEO, NEC, BOD and approved by the GA. The BOD, in her fiduciary role, ensures that the work of the NN committee is in the best interest of the community. The Chapter presidents are indispensable community liaisons who manage the activities of NN at the grass roots.
Enrollment in NN is possible only after 12 months of membership in BCA USA. Enrollment in NN is completed by maintaining BCA USA membership and a once-in-life payment of $50 (adults) or $10 (children). NN remains the cornerstone of membership growth in BCA USA but at the same time, paradoxically, depends on the future of BCA USA membership growth. The first 5 chapters with the highest enrollment include Eastern, Oklahoma, Southern Texas, Northern and Northern Texas.
NN payout for each occurrence depends on whether the beneficiary is a child or an adult and for how long they have been NN members. Payout stands at $20k per occurrence and this amount is contributed by participating members during an occurrence. The contributing amount is obtained by dividing $20k (payout amount) over the total number of enrollees. Since its launching, NN has paid out over 20 occurrences. NN is open to audits that may be directed by the various organs mentioned above.
